Take your mounted combat to the next level
Since 2010 I’ve been helping students work towards Mastery in riding, horsemanship, and mounted combat mastery here in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. I’ve travelled to other countries to teach, and I’ve had students travel here to learn. But if the pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that we have the technology to accomplish learning from a distance. Which means I can finally offer coaching to students anywhere in the world without any of us having to travel.
I am so excited to take this leap forward!
Join me for a year-long personalized mounted combat training program. Whether you’re just starting out and don’t know where to begin, or whether you’ve been riding horses and swinging swords for a while and need help progressing past your current plateau, I want to help you reach your goals in 2022.

How it works
Each month will begin with live goal-setting sessions in which you’ll let me know what your obstacles are and what gains you’re hoping to make, whether it’s in your swordplay, your riding, your horse’s training, or all three. Between us, we’ll set concrete, achievable goals, and make an individualized training plan for you. During the month you’ll send me quick videos for feedback, and in the last week of each month we’ll have an assessment session to measure and celebrate your progress!
In addition to the live sessions you’ll have support from your fellow students and the Academie Cavallo community, plus access to all of our online material.

Frequently Asked Questions
When are the live sessions?
You’ll be polled to choose time slots. I’m committed to finding times that work for everyone, even if it means running extra sessions.
What platforms are the sessions on?
I run live sessions on the Academie Cavallo Discord Server (you can check it out now if you like), which also serves as a repository for class notes, and general discussion. There will also be good old fashioned email communication.
What if I don’t have a horse? Or a training partner? Or a sword?
Part of the program involves helping you build your local community. That includes finding stables and coaches, setting up clubs and training spaces, and networking with other horse and sword enthusiasts. As for swords, a 3′ – 4′ piece of dowling is more than sufficient to help you learn all the principles of swordplay to start with. (You’ll want a sword eventually of course, because swords are cool).
What is the Club Membership?
If you have a school, club, or just a handful of friends that like to train together you can get a group membership that is good for up to ten people. Please email me at info (at) academiecavallo.ca before purchasing the membership to be sure there is room for your group in the current intake.
