We’re super excited to announce that our Advanced Horsemanship Course is open for registration! Thank you to everyone who sent in feedback on dates and times. We have set the times for Mondays at 7pm pacific for both the online and in-person classes. However, if we get more than four people registered for in-person classes we will add an alternate time of 3pm on Sundays.
The course is considerably easier on the pocketbook if you register for the whole year for only $380. However, we are making individual months available for $60 a pop for those of you who have irregular schedules or just need to pick up a few topics.
If you’re only able to take online classes, these are available through a monthly online membership, which gains you access to all our other online lectures and discussions as well.
This full year course will take you through all the topics of the Horsemanship Level 5 curriculum, with quarterly reviews and assessments. Topics include stabling, equine nutrition, grooming, conformation & unsoundness, hoof & farriery, saddlery, bandaging, diseases of the horse, equine first aid, conditioning, and travel, at an in-depth level.
In general there will be one online session (first Monday of the month) and one in-person session (third Monday) per month, with the exception of February 2021, which has two online sessions, and March, which has two in-person sessions. Classes happen on Monday evenings at 7pm pacific time.
At the end of the course participants can expect to be able to examine for Horsemanship Level 5. For those who have not yet tested levels 1 through 4, there will be quarterly assessment opportunities to test lower levels if desired. No prior experience is needed to take the course: this information is valuable to anyone who is interested in horses and horse care.
